Police look to ID females in sleight-of-hand trick theft

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are looking to identify two females after they did a "sleight of hand" trick at Weis Market in Stroudsburg.

According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department on August 28 they were dispatched to Weis Market on Ninth Street in Stroudsburg for an incident that occurred on August 15 at 5:33 p.m.

Police say the women pictured below were able to steal $140 in $20 bills.

As stated by officials the suspects handed an employee three $100 bills, requesting a change in $20 bills and when the employee was not paying attention the suspect hid $140 of the $20 bills in her hand and handed the employee back the rest of the $20 bills requesting the $300 bills back.

Officials note the females are also suspected of committing the same crime at the Weis Market in Tannersville on the same day.
