Football gets ready for battle against Liberty

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Coming in 2-0 for the first time in 11 years, Stroudsburg prepares for a week 3 war with Liberty.

This will mark the first time in 13 years that Stroudsburg started 3-0, a season where they finished 9-3 and lost to Parkland in the district playoffs.

Last week, Stroudsburg was able to dominate Wilkes-Barre on both offense and defense.

RB Jaylin Rieara, ’26, had a big game on the ground, racking up two key touchdowns for the Mountaineers in the victory.

Receivers Ethan Dudsak, ’25, and Kamani Coleman, ’25, both hauled in touchdowns through the air. LB James Kelly, ’25, recovered a fumble for a scoop-and-score to the house for six.

This matchup features two of the top teams this season in District 11 6A, as both teams come in with a record of 2-0. This begins Stroudsburg’s toughest stretch of the season yet as they take on Emmaus at home next week.

All-time against Liberty, Stroudsburg is 1-2 with their most recent game being a defeat at home in 2022. Their lone victory came in September of 2021.
