On Friday, Stroudsburg defeated Pocono Mountain West, 37-7.
The Mountaineers jumped on the prowl early, scoring three touchdowns on offense in the first half. Austin Herman, ’25, scored the first touchdown in the game in the first quarter.
The first-half scoring was highlighted by an Ethan Dudsak, ’25, receiving touchdown right before the half came to a close.
Jalen Taylor, ’25, had himself a game as well, catching a touchdown as well as securing an interception in the first half.
Stroudsburg would continue the onslaught in the second half, scoring a touchdown right out of the gates.
Dudsak would play a factor again, getting a safety on a poorly executed punt play by West, pinned up against the end zone.
Team would trade touchdowns down the stretch to get us to a 37-7 final score.
Dudsak’s 13 receptions on the night broke a school record set in the 1990s. The record has stood for over 30 years but Dudsak has flirted with it all year. On senior night, he was able to finally break it and received the game ball for the night.
Stroudsburg’s record now sits at 4-3 and they are eighth in the District XI 6A standings. The Mountaineers will now get ready to take on East Stroudsburg North this Friday, on the road. Coming into this contest, North has won four out of their last five games, while Stroudsburg has won two out of their last three games
