ARRESTDetails MapOn July 14, 2024, at approximately 0254 hours, an Officer with the Pocono Township Police Department was on routine patrol in the area of SR0611 and Scotrun Drive. The Officer observed a white Hyundai Elantra pass another vehicle on SR0611 and proceed to accelerate at a high rate of speed. The Officer pursued the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon further investigation the Officer observed evidence of narcotics possession in the vehicle. A consent search was requested and granted. Upon searching the vehicle the Officer located a .22 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number along with marijuana and paraphernalia. The owner of the backpack that the handgun was in was identified as Jaihad H. Comer. a 24 year-old male from Irvington, New Jersey. Comer was subsequently placed under arrested and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility. Comer was arraigned by MDJ Paul Gasper and bail was set at $10,000 secured bail.
