Seven East Stroudsburg University students, who took Teaching of Communications during the spring 2023 semester after serving as “buddies” to German preservice teaching students who were on ESU’s campus during the fall 2022 semester, participated in a two-and-a-half-week field experience through the University of Landau-Konblenz in Landau in der Pfalz, Germany.

Chestnuthill Township News
In collaboration with East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU), business representatives of Monroe, Pike, Wayne, and Carbon Counties met at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions for the 10th annual Economic Outlook Summit on May 19, 2023.
The theme for this year’s Summit was “Celebrating the Economic Transformation of the Poconos.”
The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is located within the 77,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and is the education partner of the National Park Service in this area.

St. Luke’s Smithfield Gateway Health Center hosted a packed house for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the new facility in Monroe County on March 28, 2023. The facility is located at 125 Smithfield Lane in East Stroudsburg and is set to open April 3. It will offer an array of outpatient healthcare services.

Hello Folks, Aunt Eunice here. I am in fine fettle now that spring has arrived and I hope you are too. Many signs of spring are all around as I am sure you’ve noticed. Daylight Savings Time means it’s light enough when I get home from the farm, seeing the crocuses bloom and the pussy willows budding. For the last two weeks, being around our house has been like being in the Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds”. Hundreds and thousands of starlings have migrated north and I swear, all of them are perched in my trees! The racket they make is quite loud.

Garbage Service Suspended: Due to the weather, Waste Management has suspended the garbage collection in the Borough of East Stroudsburg. If your garbage was not collected today, Waste Management will be collecting it tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10th. If your garbage was already collected, please be sure to bring your garbage cans in from curbside prior to 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Nachelle Davis, 50, of Stroudsburg, has been arrested and charged with drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility in the January 2020 death of Ashley Pinero.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that James R. Bell, age 28, of Newark, New Jersey, was indicted on July 14, 2020, by a federal grand jury with drug distribution resulting in death.
