Hughes Library is delighted to announce an upcoming FAFSA and Financial Aid Prep Workshop scheduled for Monday, April 15th, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The event will take place in the Hughes Library Community Room, located at 1002 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. This workshop is open to parents of high school students, current college students, and all other individuals filing for the 2024-2025 FAFSA or for financial aid.

Our panel of guests includes a representative from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), two financial aid officers from East Stroudsburg University (ESU) and Northampton Community College (NCC), and a high school guidance counselor from East Stroudsburg High School South (ESHS-South).

The workshop will include brief presentations from each speaker, providing valuable insights into the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and financial aid preparation. Following these informative sessions, attendees will have the opportunity for a question and answer session and personalized one-on-one assistance with the FAFSA application, time permitting.

The United States Department of Education recently released a new version of the Federal Student Aid Application, known as the FAFSA, for the 2024-2025 school year. Guest speakers will provide insights on the application process and address any questions you may have. Learn about common mistakes when filling out the FAFSA and receive tips on getting it right from a PHEAA representative. In addition to FAFSA assistance, the workshop will share information on various financial aid options such as grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. An East Stroudsburg High School South guidance counselor will also be present at the workshop, addressing the personal aspects of college preparation and mental readiness for financial aid.

While registration is preferred, it is not mandatory. Knowing who will be attending helps us prepare adequately. Register by calling 570-421-0800 ext. 317. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops for specific FAFSA questions; however, a limited number of public laptops and notebook computers will be available. We look forward to seeing you on April 15th!
