DEP Public Hearing on Proposed Warner Road Warehouse Project in Monroe County

Wilkes-Barre - The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a public hearing for the proposed Warner Road Warehouse Project in Pocono Township, Monroe County. The hearing will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Pocono Mountain School District Swiftwater Elementary Center located at 135 Academic Dr, Swiftwater, PA 18370. Core5 Industrial Partners of Harrisburg (Core5) has applied for a National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit for a discharge of stormwater from construction activities.

POCONO TWP., Pa. — A Pocono Township resident has secured his status on the ballot for a state House seat in Pennsylvania's 115th district.

Matt Long seeks election to Harrisburg from Monroe County this year. Long graduated from East Stroudsburg's Notre Dame High School.

Though he's running as a Republican because of his views of immigration and crime issues, Long says he will work with anyone to deliver "common sense" solutions for Monroe County residents

Pennsylvania’s high court sides with Poconos township over its ban of a backyard gun range

A township ordinance that limits firing guns to indoor and outdoor shooting ranges and zoning that significantly restricts where the ranges can be located do not violate the Second Amendment, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.

Recently a witness came forward with a detailed account and description that verified Madeleine Leonard was told what happened to her husband, John Leonard, Sr. and why he was murdered. Madeleine said she was going to the Police after finding out what happened to John Leonard. Because of this, she was lured out and killed in Mt. Pocono.

The witness also said, "everyone in the Barrett Township Community knew the facts behind both murders but no one ever came forward to talk about it because they feared for their lives from these people involved".
