On 9/27/20221 at 2:51 a.m. the Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to an apartment on North 9th Street in Stroudsburg for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon interviewing the victim, she related that she woke up hearing footsteps and creaking of the floor. The victim saw that the rear door was open and closed it. She then heard footsteps again and saw a male standing in the hallway with a knife.
On the same date at 6:13 a.m. Stroud Area Regional Police responded to another burglary in progress on Ann Street in Stroudsburg. The victim related that her daughter (juvenile) ran into her room and woke her up to tell her that she was woken up by a male removing her shorts. The male then jumped out the second-floor window.
At both locations items of clothing were recovered. Through additional investigation a suspect was identified as Marvin Ovniel Hernandez-Perez. With this information, felony charges were filed at the magistrate's office and a warrant was issued for Hernandez-Perez's arrest.
