PUBLIC NOTICE Monroe County Transportation Authority PROPOSED FARE INCREASE The Monroe County Transportation Authority (MCTA) has proposed a fare increase for one-way Fixed Route bus tickets from $1.50 including transfers to $2.00 including transfers effective January 1, 2025. Fare capping via bank cards will provide discounted fares for one day ($4), seven-day ($20), and thirty-day ($64) usage. Discounted fares will be available to eligible college/trade school students and persons with disabilities. Children, and students K-12 with valid school issued IDs, may ride for free. Individuals and organizations may comment on the proposed fare increase in writing to MCTA, P.O. Box 339, Scotrun, PA 18355, website at www.gomcta.com/newFares.php, or via email to hyanulus@gomcta.com. A public hearing will be held at MCTA corporate offices 134 MCTA Drive, Swiftwater, PA 18370 on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 5:30pm and be part of the regularly scheduled, monthly Board Meeting.
