HAMILTON TOWNSHIP BID NOTICE SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED AND OPENED AT A MEETING OF THE HAMILTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS at the Township Building, located at 229 Fenner Avenue, Sciota PA, 18354 until 4:00 pm on September 24, 2024 for snow plowing contracts on specific roads in Hamilton Township. Bids may be sent to Hamilton Township, PO Box 285, Sciota, PA 18354. Bids will be opened, read and possibly awarded at approximately 4:00 pm. Questions should be directed to the Township Roadmaster, Lawrence Buzzard at 570-992-7020 from 8am to 4pm, Monday – Friday. The successful bidder must meet the following qualifications: A. EQUIPMENT – The successful bidder must have a single axle dump truck with total gross vehicle weight of not less than 23,000 lbs. and no more than 36,000 lbs. equipped with at least an 11 foot plow, yellow light, truck chains and either a hopper or a rear tailgate cinder spreader. B. OPERATION QUALIFICATIONS – The successful bidder must supply a qualified driver, fuel and maintenance of the truck and insurance. The driver must be licensed under the laws of the Commonwealth of PA to operate vehicles meeting the above qualifications and provide certification of belonging to a qualified CDL drug and alcohol testing program. The insurance requirements for the successful bidder shall be General Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000, Automobile Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000, and Workmen’s Comp. insurance if you have employees driving the trucks. Certificates of Insurance must be filed with the Township within 5 days of the bid award. C. AVAILABILITY – The successful bidder must be available 24 hours a day from November 1, 2024 to May 15, 2025 on an “on-call” basis. The successful bidder must be on site no less than 30 minutes after receiving the initial call and must be familiar with the township roadways. D. CONTENT OF BID – The Township will supply the road material. Bid should also include and be based upon an hourly rate per the contract by which successful bidder will provide the truck and driver on an “on-call” basis as indicated above. The Supervisors reserve the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof and, to the extent allowed by law, to waive technicalities as it deems to be in the best interest of the township. Bids may be held by Hamilton Township for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the contract.
