MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police say they arrested a man after he chased and shot at another man in Monroe County. According to Pennsylvania State Police, on August 6 troopers were called to a shooting incident at My Place Bar & Grill in Middle Smithfield Township around 1:30 a.m. After further investigation, PSP said a man, later identified as Jose Ramos, 39, of Stroudsburg, chased a 30-year-old man with a gun and then fired one round at the victim.

Warrant issued, woman sends police on high-speed chase

POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officers have issued an arrest warrant for a woman in Monroe County after she sends officers on a high-speed chase. According to Pocono Township Police Department on August 19 around 9:50 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Tesla SUV with an expired and suspended registration. During the traffic stop, police say they made contact with 29-year-old Jamisa A. Mclvor from East Stroudsburg who had an expired and suspended driver's license.

St. Luke's Health Network's Athletic Training Department and Pocono Mountain School District hosted the event Tuesday. This training exercise was designed to help people of all ages especially students and athletes respond to a cardiac arrest event on a sports field. Cardiac arrest is a severe medical emergency that requires immediate response and the right medical equipment.

On July 3, police say they were dispatched to a home on Hilltop Circle in Middle Smithfield Township for a reported 22-year-old gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officials said the victim had a gunshot wound to the leg, along with other bullet holes found in the home of the victim.

Fire tears through apartment building in East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Several families were chased from their homes after a fire in the Poconos Sunday afternoon. First responders say several fire departments were dispatched to the 200 block of North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg for a reported apartment building fire around 12:15 p.m. Officials tell 28/22 News the fire started in the back of the building and quickly spread to the front. The building is now a total loss.

Shots fired in Stroudsburg prompts shooting investigation

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a shooting after an altercation between a group caused shots fired in Stroudsburg Thursday. According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, around 1:00 a.m. officers were called to the 600 block of Main Street for shots fired. An investigation showed the shots took place on North 6th Street after a physical altercation with a group of people. Officers said they located one bullet hole in a nearby business.
