TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after police say he assaulted officers when he refused to stop for a roadblock due to a crash.

According to the Pocono Township Police Department, on October 21 around 10:30 a.m., officers were on the scene of a crash and traffic was stopped in all directions.

Police say a construction truck entered the intersection, ignoring orders to stop. The driver, Kyle Dale, 30, of Scranton, refused to stop, provide his driver's license, or get out of his vehicle, officers reported.

Man accused of multiple Home Depot retail thefts

Investigators stated Dale was removed from his vehicle and he began resisting arrest until backup officers arrived and Dale was arrested. Police said two officers were injured as a result of Dale's resistance.

Dale was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and other related offenses.

He was placed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility on $30,000 secured bail.
