Programs for Kids

Special Musical Storytime Ages 2-5. Join us for a special Storytime with our Bookmobile staff who will read stories and entertain you with songs on the guitar and banjo. Walk-in.

Play Session Ages 1-5. Unstructured free play with your child. Blocks, trucks, musical instruments, infant toys, and more. Walk-in although space may be limited.

Bird Bonanza Ages 3 & Up. Birds are seen all year, but sometimes it is difficult to see them up close. Students will get a personal look at bird artifacts to unravel the secrets of flight and bird identification. Dress to go outdoors, weather permitting. Presented by Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC). Walk-in. For questions, call 570-223-1881.

The Sleepy Hallow Halloween Show: Kit’s Interactive Theatre Recommended for ages 5 to adult. Tour Sleepy Hollow with Katrina Van Tassle & Ichabod Crane, where skeletons high-step in a graveyard dance and hobgoblins haunt villagers in this spooky-but not scary-Halloween tale. Performance combines literature, dance, music, imagination, and improvisation with a great mixture of humor. Kids and adults are cast right into the show. Teens Write: Character Descriptions Join Kelsey for fun writing exercises exploring how to create vivid characters in your creative writing. Registration begins Monday, Aug. 28. Call Youth Services 570-421-0800 x305.

Teens in the Kitchen: Chocolate Cup Parfaits (grades 6-12) Wednesday, November 8, 6:00-7:00pm. Create a chocolate cup and prepare fillings for it before assembling your own delicious dessert.  Registration begins Monday, Oct. 16. Call Youth Services 570-421-0800 x305.
