Beacon Hill Concerts - James Reese and Jacob Perry

Join Beacon Hill Concerts on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 3:00pm for “Cruel Amaryllis”.

This program of Italian Madrigals (17th century) consists of the musical settings of the poetry of three Italian poets (Guarini, Rinuccini, & Marino) and features works by the early baroque composers, Claudio Monteverdi and Sigismondo d’India, along with 10 others of their contemporaries. These 17th century composers collectively brought vocal music to new expressive heights unsurpassed to this day.

Two tenors extraordinaire, James Reese and Jacob Perry, are accompanied by three theorbos (lutes). (All musicians perform with Tempesta di Mare of the Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra).

Reservations: As in the past, Dan accepts reservations for concerts one month prior to the concert date. Reservations for “Cruel Amaryllis” open on Sunday, January 4, 2024. Make your reservation by emailing Dan indicating the number of seats you wish to reserve, and the NAMES of all attendees. Your reservation is not “official” until you receive confirmation from Dan. There is no admission fee, only a “suggested donation” of $15 adult, $10 senior, $5 student, at the door. Please reserve for friends only if they are definitely planning to attend.

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this unique program of chamber music by top performers! The intimate concert space is perfectly suited for this sort of performance.

Sidnie and I look forward to seeing all of you in a few short weeks.
