On July 23, 2024 at approximately 1842 hours, Officers with the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person walking in the roadway on SR0611 near Fountain Court. Upon arrival Officers made contact with Riad Yar, a 49-year-old male from Tannersville, who was walking in the roadway without shoes on. Officers observed signs of impairment and discovered that Yar had left his vehicle parked at the intersection of SR0611 and Rimrock Road. Upon further investigation it was believed that the defendant was under the influence of a controlled substance. Yar was subsequently placed under arrest. On September 8, 2024, Yar's toxicology report was received. The report confirmed that Yar was under the influence of controlled substances at the time of his arrest. Charges have been filed.
