On July 16, 2024, Officers from the Pocono Township Police Dept responded to the Inch by Inch daycare on Lower Swiftwater Rd for a report of a burglary that occurred sometime during the night.  Officers investigating the burglary found that the suspect had entered the business through a rear window and removed all of the tools and school items from the daycare, which was under renovation.  Most of the tools and school supplies were found outside by a construction trailer in the parking lot.  The owners of the business advised that there were several tools and school supplies stolen from the business.

On July 22, 2024, Pocono Township Police Officers responded to the Eglise Evangelique De La Renaissance Church, located two buildings away from the daycare, on Lower Swiftwater Rd, for a report of a homeless camp in the woods behind the church.  Officers arrived and found a trail of household items leading from the church to a homeless camp in the woods between the church property and the Pocono Mountain East Field Hockey Field.  Upon further investigation, it was found that the church's community center had been burglarized and that the items leading to the camp and items at the camp, were stolen from the community center.  Officers processed the community center and were able to locate a handprint at the scene, which was sent to the crime lab for identification.  While going through the items at the camp, Officers located several personal items belonging to Ralph Almodovar, the defendant in this matter.  The hand print was later identified as belonging to Almodovar.  On August 11, 2024, Almodovar was located by Stroud Area Regional Police Dept at which time he was placed under arrest for the church burglary and placed in Monroe County Correctional Facility.

On September 18, 2024, Almodovar was at his preliminary hearing for the church burglary, when he made admissions about committing the daycare burglary.  On September 26, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Almodovar for the daycare burglary, which was served on him while still in jail for the church burglary.

Almodovar was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge and bail was set at $10,000 secured, his preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 9, 2024.  Almodovar's bail for the church burglary had be previously been set by Judge Kresge at $75,000 secured and he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
