The U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed another slew of Avian Influenza cases in Philadelphia.
According to APHIS, 1,100 birds located at a "live bird market" in Philadelphia have been affected.
"Avian influenza can kill entire flocks of birds so this causes devastating losses for the farming sector, " said Dr. Keith Hamilton, head of the World Organisation for Animal Health Preparedness and Resilience Department.
In January, a wild snow goose was confirmed to have the first case of bird flu in Philadelphia.
APHIS data shows "there have been 7 affected commercial flocks, 9 affected backyard flocks, and a total of 2,346,270 birds" affected in the current Avian Influenza outbreak.
