State police to conduct DUI checkpoint in Monroe County Memorial Day weekend

Pennsylvania State Police barracks within Troop N have announced they will be looking for impaired drivers during Memorial Day weekend.

The Stroudsburg barracks said a checkpoint will be conducted within Monroe County some time between Friday and Monday. The Lehighton and Fern Ridge barracks referred to both a checkpoint and "actively searching for impaired drivers."

Lehigh County OKs bond deal for LVHN to sell facilities

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh County Board of Commissioners authorized the issuance of debt service to benefit a health care organization Wednesday night at the government center.

The approved resolution authorizes Monroe County Hospital Authority to issue bonds that would ultimately allow Lehigh Valley Health Network to sell various facilities to the Centurion Foundation, a non-profit group which specializes in executing and managing financial and operational transactions involving health care facilities.

3 arrested after shots fired outside of Airbnb in the Poconos

COOLBAUGH TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say three people were arrested Wednesday and are investigating a report of shots fired outside an Airbnb in the Poconos.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said in a release the three people arrested are 26-year-old Yervison Yohan Zapata-Zul, 23-year-old Luis Viera-Aguilar, and 26-year-old Hendrick Morales, all from Venezuela.

COOLBAUGH TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are investigating a report of shots fired outside an Airbnb in the Poconos.

Chief Wagner with the Pocono Mountain Regional Police told 28/22 News for the past 24 to 48 hours police have been getting calls of suspicious activity around the area of Warwick Circle and Coach Road in Coolbaugh Township.

Wednesday morning, an incident took place at a home being rented out via Airbnb known as a “party house”, Chief Wagner stated.

Shots fired and a related motor vehicle crash in the area of Warwick Circle, Pocono Farms East.

The Pocono Mountain Regional Police are investigating a report of shots fired and a related motor vehicle crash in the area of Warwick Circle, Pocono Farms East. Multiple police units are on-scene. The scene and community are stable and there is currently no known danger to the public. The investigation is on-going. PMRPD is being assisted by multiple agencies.

Arrests made after days of disturbance, including shots fired, at Monroe County residence

TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, MONROE CO. (WOLF) —

A shots fired investigation is underway in Monroe County, according to the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department.

On Monday, the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department said it was dispatched to a suspicious male on Route 196 and Renaissance Lane in Coolbaugh Township. The call indicated there was a Hispanic male running through private property and then onto State Route 196 with no shoes and appeared in distress.
