After losing a very close match against Freedom 39-31 on Tuesday, Stroudsburg Wrestling made a statement the very next day.
Travelling to Dieruff High School, the Mountaineers dismantled the Huskies, 57-13.
This season, they’ve been back and forth with wins and losses, but they keep losses close and wins are blowouts. Both William Allen and Dieruff lost to Stroudsburg by a combined 95 points, while the Mountaineers have only lost by 27.
Albert Bialasiewicz, ‘26, started off the match pinning his opponent in 30 seconds, rewarding his team with 6 points, while Shaun Evans, ‘26, pinned his in 1:30.
Chase Fetherman, ‘27, won by tech fall, and the teams’ 139 pounder, Zach Berwick, ‘25, won his match in 48 seconds by pin.
Giovanni Alvarez, ‘27, Lenny DeMaria, ‘27, Zion Essington, ‘26, and Alex Ball, ‘26, all won their matches to close out the dual. Overall, there were only two losses against Dieruff, allowing Stroudsburg to hold their opponent to only 13 points.
Stroudsburg Wrestling is 4-3 on the season with 7 matches left. Their next match is at home against East Stroudsburg South at 7:00 p.m.
