On 9/2/2023 at 12:40 p.m. the Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to the Walmart in East Stroudsburg for a report of a retail theft. It was reported to the responding officer by loss prevention that the suspect concealed items and ran from the store without paying for $176.14 worth of merchandise. The suspect was located at the Sunoco gas station on Prospect Street. A comparison was made with Walmart video surveillance and identified the suspect as Anthony Tyreek Headley, Jr.

Further investigation revealed that Headley was arrested two times previously for retail theft. Charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued for Headley.
