On February 24, 2025, the Stroud Area Regional Police began an investigation at the Lowe's in Stroud Township in reference to two retail thefts that occurred on November 13, 2024, and November 23, 2024, by a male suspect. The male was later identified as Corry R. Carr. In the first incident, Carr began shopping and then took the items to the register and provided information for an accounts receivable account, not in his name. This resulted in a fraudulent charge of $1,086.15. In the second incident, Carr again entered the store and began shopping and provided information for the accounts receivable account, still not in his name. This resulted in a fraudulent change of $881.55. In both instances Carr left the store without paying. The owner of the accounts receivable account disputed the charges and did not authorize anyone named Corry Carr to utilize the account. Carr was identified after being stopped by a Wilkes-Barre Township police officer who provided Carr's photo for comparison to the video surveillance provided by Lowe's.

Charges were filed and a felony arrest warrant was issued for Corry Robert Carr. He may be in the Yonkers, NY area.
