TUNKHANNOCK TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police report two people have died after a multi-vehicle crash due to fog over the weekend.
On March 15 around 2:30 p.m., officers were called for a crash with entrapment on Route 115 in Tunkhannock Township.
Police say a vehicle was turning from Route 115 south into a driveway when a second vehicle traveling north hit them due to low visibility from the fog.
Bus carrying bagpipers crashes into tractor-trailerThe passengers of the first vehicle, Joanna Keifer, 75, and Cherylynn Frantz, 55, both of Blakeslee, were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Keifer and Frantz later died at the hospital due to the injuries they sustained during the crash.
The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.
