1.How long have you been with SHS?

This is my 22nd year at Stroudsburg High School.

2. What made you want to become a teacher?

I’ve always wanted to be a teacher because I love helping others learn and grow. As the oldest of five siblings, I’ve naturally taken on a leadership role from a young age, gaining plenty of experience guiding and supporting others.

3. What was your favorite subject growing up?

English and History

4. What is your favorite part about your students?

Seeing them mature and grow as people. I am lucky enough to have some of them for three years, so I get to know them well and see them develop into ambitious young adults.

5. What is one thing you learned from your students?

“Perspective is crucial—it’s important to understand things from different viewpoints and recognize where others are coming from.

 6. Who do you look up to?

Women with strength and grace like my grandma Edythe; she is still with us at 102! She had many challenges in her life, such as losing her only child, my dad, and her husband at a young age, but never let it stop her from being a spiritual, loving, kind, caring, and fun person. Even well into her 90s, she had the energy and outlook of someone decades younger.

7. What makes you smile?

Being with my husband and dog, good pizza, music, and not taking life too seriously.

8. What is something most people might not know about you?

I really love my dogs. I didn’t adopt my first, Sasha, until I was in my 20s. I would rescue 100 Pit Bulls if I had the space. I also enjoy outdoor summer concerts and being outside.

9. If you had one piece of advice to give to your students, what would it be?

“That’s a tough one, especially since I tend to be a bit long-winded myself! But if I had to offer some advice, it would be this: don’t stress too much about what others think—it’s beyond your control. Everyone is facing their own battles, even if they’re not always visible. Stay engaged, nurture your friendships, and make those connections meaningful. There will be plenty of time for relationships in the future. Be kind to others and to the planet. And above all, be present—don’t just capture the moment, live it.”
