Another week, another Pocono Record Athlete of the Week nominee.

Even with a slow start to September for some sports, the Mountaineers have still managed to have multiple Athletes of the Week this season from the Pocono Record.

This week sees Cross Country stars Aiden Nieman, ’25, and Cate Brinker, ’25, as well as Shelbi Calligari, ’25, and Julianna Vo, ’25, from the red-hot Girls’ Tennis team are all up for voting.

Nieman is the lone nominee from Stroudsburg for the Boys’ Athlete of the Week. Since joining the cross country program, he has been dominate as one of the best runners on the team. Nieman finished third in Stroudsburg’s race last week against multiple EPC schools.

Stroudsburg has three girls up for voting in the Girls’ Athlete of the Week competition. Brinker has also had success in cross country for the girls. In their most recent race, she placed ninth in the girls’ division.

Calligari and Vo have played a key part in the 11-1 Stroudsburg Girls’ Tennis season. In their most recent matchup, they continued their dominance as they defeated East Stroudsburg South’s Amelia Jean-Baptiste and Vanessa Mirra in doubles.

The girls look to become the first Girls’ Athlete of the Week for the Mountaineers this year. They all look to join Stroudsburg QB Ben Pilcher, ’25, as athletes to win the award this season from Stroudsburg.

Vote here until 5:30 p.m. today, Wednesday September 18.
