On May 23, 2024,  the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) hosted Diversity Day, an event where students could put their cultures on display for the rest of the school community.

Tables featured special information, music, and food from countries such as Brazil, Peru, the Philippines, Greece, Thailand, and more.

The NAACP Chapter has been extremely involved with increasing diversity in SHS, hosting assemblies, events, and dances throughout the year.

NAACP President, Isaiah Louis-Jacques, 12, stated, “We need to showcase different cultures so people can recognize just how diverse our school community is and so people can grow their points of views and perspectives on others.”
