Stroudsburg Area School District welcomes senior, Kona Maronpot, as the new Student Representative for the SHS School Board. He takes over for Julian Gajewski, who attended monthly meetings and then reported for the Mountaineer Newspaper as a regular contributor. Meeting summaries kept the student body aware of upcoming changes.
Kona is working hard to get the students’ needs in front of the board members. He will attend monthly meetings and recap those meetings with an article for the newspaper.
Maronpot shared, “At the meetings, I plan on sharing any thoughts students have about how the school has been running in my report.”
The meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month with the first meeting set for Sept 18. Kona hopes to have his first article out by Sept 25, at the latest.
Anyone is welcome to attend; these meetings are open to the public. More information is also available at sburg.org.
Kona looks forward to being the student representative this year and plans to keep the student body happy.
