STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Stroudsburg Borough set up their tree at Courthouse Square Wednesday morning.

Every year before Thanksgiving, they get a tree from a local farm to decorate and display.

This year, they got their tree from Baumgartner Farms in Kunkletown.

Dunkelbergers Tree Service brought it in and Stroudsburg Public Works decorated it.

The tree lighting event is preparing to kick off the holiday season.

"We have Brad Roccanova and his big band a 10-piece brass band that is ready to set the holiday season off right. We're gonna have a visit from Santa Claus and The Grinch and maybe even some Disney princesses and a lot of good eats here in downtown Stroudsburg," said Downtown Stroudsburg Tree Lighting Event Coordinator Erik Diemer.

The annual tree lighting takes place this Friday.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and the lighting will be at 6:30 p.m.
