STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Stroudsburg Little League is getting a $100,000 grant. State Representative Tarah Probst was able to secure the grant for the league.
The money will used for much-needed renovations at the Robertson Field next to Morey Elementary, which has been in use since 1950.
At least 132 new jobs coming to Luzerne CountyTheir first priority is to make sure the field is upgraded to be a safe playable environment, from the surface to the protective netting to the fence surrounding the field.
"This field means a lot to everybody in this community and to have it be refurbished and have a new place for the kids to play baseball for Stroudsburg Little League, it just makes my heart warm so I'm so happy to help," Probst explained.
Probst said the grant was provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
