What is one thing you wish people knew about being a school nurse in general
School nursing is very busy – it’s more than giving out bandaids! We work very hard and see a large volume of students daily along with staff. We need to ensure that each student has complete immunizations, physicals, eye exams, and hearing screenings along with sick visits, injuries, medications, and more.

What is something your students have taught you?
Students have taught me to be more understanding and observant about the challenges they face, cultural differences, and language barriers.
