MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau announced the launch of its "Sports, Entertainment, and Film Commission" on Friday.
A release from the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau says the commission is in place to highlight the various qualities of the region to attract sports, entertainment, and film productions.
Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau CEO Chris Barrett noted the importance of the commission in a statement:
"The formation of the Pocono Mountains Sports, Entertainment & Film Commission marks a significant milestone in our efforts to leverage the natural beauty and existing infrastructure of the Poconos to attract major events and productions.
