Some snow could come to the Lehigh Valley this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service forecast, the southern Poconos region could see some snow flurries mid-day Saturday.
For the rest of the region though, expect to see mostly cloudy, somewhat chilly conditions today. Lehigh Valley International Airport forecasts a high temperature of 43 degrees today and a low of 25 degrees tonight.
But more significant, although not particularly substantial, snowfall could come to the region Sunday night. The National Weather forecast advises that some “light accumulating snowfall” could arrive in the Lehigh Valley from Sunday night into Monday morning.
Sunday will start out with clear skies and temperatures in the low 40s, but clouds will move in throughout afternoon and evening.
Snowfall is not expected to exceed more than 1 to 2 inches throughout the entire area. Officials have not yet issued travel advisories, and the forecast advises that “impacts from any snowfall with this system appear to be limited,” with temperatures expected to rise above freezing overnight.
Any precipitation will probably happen before 7 a.m. Monday, according to the forecast.
