BRODHEADSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The ShopRite of Brodheadsville in the Poconos is being honored for raising thousands to fight hunger as part of the annual ShopRite partners in Caring Cheerios Contest.

They raised over $48,000 and ranked among the top five fundraising stores.

"Throughout the whole 25 years of doing this, they've raised with all of the ShopRites over $65 million. So it's just really great to know that what we're doing is becoming a really big thing and that we're able to help different people all over," said Kayla Kinsley, Special Events Coordinator.

Four associates are featured on a special edition cheerios box and a donation was made to local charities: The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network and West End Food Pantry.
