School threat causes Monroe County school district to close

BRODHEADSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are investigating a school threat at a high school in the Pleasant Valley School District Thursday morning.

According to PSP, on September 5 troopers were notified by the Pleasant Valley School District regarding a "Safe 2 Say" entry involving a threat at the high school.

School officials say due to safety concerns, Pleasant Valley School District will move to a remote instructional day.

Students in grades 3-12 will learn synchronous instruction while students in grades K-2 will complete work through SeeSaw, Packets, and live support sessions with their teacher, the district stated.

State police conducted a sweep of the building with K-9 units to ensure the safety of the students and school employees.

The investigation is ongoing.
