As the Stroudsburg Rifle teams’ regular season comes to a close, they end the season with a record of 8-2. With a comfortable third-seed finish, they can confidently say this was a successful season.
The Mountaineers only had one match that went down to the Xs, against a competitive Emmaus team that they beat 497 40x to 497 38x. The rest of their wins came smoothly with multiple 10+ point differential matches during the season.
The team this year is senior-heavy, having four of the five top shooters in almost all matches being the class of ‘25.
Notable marksmen this season are Gavin Dunkelberger, ‘25, Isabella Lisnik, ‘25, William Tonnies, ‘25, Alysha Coker, ‘25, Colin Barrett, ‘25, Maxsim Lamberton, ‘25, Alexander Franolich, ‘25, Jayden Reyes, ‘25, and Anthony Ortiz, ’26.
Stroudsburg has two All-Star shooters in Dunkelberger and Tonnies, both being consistent top performers this year. Last year Dunkelberger made it to states and is looking to repeat.
The team has a bright future despite being top-heavy, having over 12 freshmen this year, allowing them to have considerable depth for the future.
Ending their regular season on a sour note with their second loss, Stroudsburg has a chance for redemption with Team Districts around the corner on January 30. They take on State Individuals on February 11.
