EYEWITNESS (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials have announced the Recovery Assistance Center ( RAC) has opened for those in NEPA impacted by the flood.
According to the Shapiro Administration, the RAC is open for homeowners, renters, and business owners damaged by the flood on September 9 in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.
“We encourage anyone who is still struggling from the devastating effects of the flooding to visit the Recovery Assistance Center or contact SBA for more information,” said PEMA Director Randy Padfield.
Officials note that those visiting the RAC can apply for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for homeowners, renters, private non-profits, and businesses located in the counties impacted by the flood.
Litter enforcement efforts in NEPAThe following staff will be at the Recovery Assistance Center:
- Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
- Pennsylvania Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (PA VOAD)
The release states the deadline to return physical damage disaster loan applications is April 24 and the deadline to return economic injury disaster loan (EIDL) applications is October 25.
Officials note that SBA can provide up to $500,000 for homeowners to replace or repair their primary residence and up to $100,000 for homeowners and renters to replace or repair their personal property.
Businesses and most private non-profits can apply for up to two million dollars to cover disaster losses that are not fully covered by insurance, the release explains.
The Recovery Assistance Center will be open April 10, 11, and 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and April 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
