Govt Bids & ProposalsGovt Bids & ProposalsPUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that Pocono Mountain Industries and Pocono Mountain Industrial Park Authority in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, is preparing an Official Sewage Facilities Plan update (Plan) for the transfer of ownership of the centralized sewer systems in the Pocono Mountain Industrial Park to the Mount Pocono Municipal Authority, Mount Pocono Borough, Monroe County. The assets included are the existing sewer mains, manholes, pump stations, pre-treatment plant, spray irrigation field and wastewater treatment plant located within the Township serve the existing Industrial Park business and have capacity for future expansion within the park. No new sewer extensions or service area are proposed as a result of this Plan. The Plan was prepared to address the planning requirements necessary for the transfer of a privately owned wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment system to an adjacent public agency as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP). Topics covered include previous wastewater planning, system description and graphical mapping of the existing assets being transferred in relation to municipal boundaries and physical characteristics, future growth and how that will be addressed, evaluation of alternatives, institutional evaluation and a description of the legal and administrative activities leading to support the implementation of the asset transfer and future ongoing operation and maintenance of the transferred assets. There is no cost to the Township nor the Borough as a result of the ownership transfer. The current rate structure of $200 per EDU of committed capacity plus $0.03 per gallon of metered water usage (billable usage) plus $0.014 per gallon of unused committed capacity will remain in place. The sale of the system is $1. Upon publication of this notice, a 30-day review and comment period is in effect. The plan is available for review at your respective Municipal building during normal business hours.
