MPMA Invitation to Bidders The Mount Pocono Municipal Authority is accepting bids for the purchase of chemicals for use in the operation of the Mt. Pocono Sewage Treatment Plant. Bidder shall prepare the Chemical Bid for three (3) alternate costs, based on a one (1) year, two (2) year and three (3) year contract period. The Authority reserves the right to select a one-year, two-year or three-year contract period. The following chemicals are used at the noted approximate quantities: liquid Aluminum Sulfate-175 gallons bulk per week or as needed; Magnesium Hydroxide- 75 to 100 gallons per week or as needed; Sodium Bicarbonate, when and as needed; Chlorine Gas?150 lb. cylinder as needed; granular and 3 tablet non stabilized Chlorine as needed; Defoamer-55 gallons as needed; Muratic Acid-30 gallons as needed; Simple Green-55 gallons as needed; and Deodorizer-55 gallons as needed. All chemicals must be ASTM certified. MSDS sheets for all chemicals shall be submitted to the Mount Pocono Municipal Authority prior to first delivery. Delivery will be on an as-needed basis. The Mt. Pocono Sewage Treatment Plant has limited mechanical means to unload the truck. The contract is to commence on June 1, 2024 for a term to be agreed upon by the Board. The Authority reserves the right to accept the lowest responsible bid or bids on a single item-by-item basis, on a group-of-items basis, or upon a complete package basis, or any combination thereof. The successful bidder must furnish to the Authority contract performance security upon awarding of the bid. Bid proposals shall be submitted via the PennBid website and will be due by May 13, 2024, 4:00 EST. Bids will be publicly announced and read aloud at a special meeting to be announced at the May 9th public meeting. Mt. Pocono Municipal Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
