PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ENACT PROPOSED ORDINANCE The Board of Supervisors of Stroud Township will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at the Stroud Township Municipal Center, 1211 N. 5th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with respect to a proposed ordinance that would prohibit parking at all times in the right turning lane of a specific portion of S.R. 0611 and would also direct the erection and maintenance of appropriate signs. At the time of the public meeting, the Supervisors will listen to comments by members of the public concerning the proposed ordinance. If substantial amendments are not offered to the draft of the proposed ordinance, the Supervisors intend to consider enactment of the proposed ordinance at the regular public meeting immediately thereafter. The proposed ordinance is entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STROUD, MONROE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 15 OF THE TOWNSHIP’S CODE OF ORDINANCES, PROHIBITING PARKING AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS IN THE TOWNSHIP. The following is a brief summary of all of the provisions of the proposed ordinance: Section 1 provides legal authority for the ordinance, adds a new §15-110 regarding the erection and maintenance of signs, and amends § 15-402 to prohibit parking at all times in the right turn lane of S.R. 0611 at Segment 0201 from Offset 1834 to Offset 2335. Sections 2 and 3, respectively, contain severability and repealer provisions. Section 4 provides that the proposed ordinance will be effective five days after its enactment. A copy of the proposed ordinance will be posted on the Township’s website and also has been supplied to the Pocono Record and to the Monroe County Law Library. Anyone may inspect the proposed ordinance (without charge) or obtain a copy of it (for a charge not exceeding actual copying costs) at the Township’s office at the address listed above during regular business hours.
