POCONO TWP., Pa. — A Pocono Township resident has secured his status on the ballot for a state House seat in Pennsylvania's 115th district.

Matt Long seeks election to Harrisburg from Monroe County this year. Long graduated from East Stroudsburg's Notre Dame High School.

Though he's running as a Republican because of his views of immigration and crime issues, Long says he will work with anyone to deliver "common sense" solutions for Monroe County residents

"I grew up in a family that had Democrats and Republicans, There were disagreements, but we always respected each other and listened to everyone," Long said. "We need more of that in government today and that is the kind of leadership I will bring to Harrisburg."

According to a press release, Long's priorities include: "lowering inflation, delivering quality education, property tax reform, raising the minimum wage, incentivizing affordable housing, and protecting your fundamental rights."
