STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) is giving back to the businesses and nonprofits that serve the community across several area counties.

Thanks to this year's community impact grant, the Mount Pocono Borough and the Mount Pocono Parks and Recreation Foundation will each receive $10,000.

The money will be put toward the annual Winter Wonderland Holiday display and the creation of Mount Pocono's pocket park.

Since 2022, more than $1,400,000 has been awarded for projects in Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon counties.

"We think it's great. It's a great way to give back to the community, you know, with the tourism dollars that we get, this is a way to just help the different municipalities and communities to really expand some of their offerings to our residents as well as our visitors, including parks," PMVB Executive Vice President Brian Bossuyt said.

"It's for the center of town, so what this will do actually is bring two new fountains into our ponds with nighttime lights. More plantings around the front ponds, and will also give cosmic color lighting to the playground structures," Pocono Township Manager Jerrod Belvin stated.
