PD: Man tries to jump guide rail to avoid arrest

STROUD TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after police say he tried to avoid them by starting a chase and jumping over a guide rail.

According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, on June 3 around 6:11 p.m., officers were called to a house close to Arlington Diner in Stroud Township for a report of a group causing problems and refusing to leave.

Police discovered that one of the people involved was identified as a 35-year-old man with a warrant out for his arrest. Officers said they confirmed that the suspect was wanted on two warrants for multiple charges.

Once police were on the scene the suspect tried to avoid them and a foot chase began as he headed towards North 9th Street where he crossed over the north and southbound lanes of traffic and tried to jump a guide rail, as stated in the release.

Officers say the suspect failed to jump the guide rail causing him to fall and be arrested.

Additional charges will be filed against the suspect.
