EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Amid a weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service, thousands of residents in Monroe County and beyond are without power.
As of about 7:30 p.m., FirstEnergy Storm Center PA is reporting over 5,000 customers are experiencing power outages within our coverage area with over 2,000 customers without power from Monroe County.
Meanwhile, PPL is reporting a total of over 17,500 of their customers in our coverage area are without power with almost 7,500 of that number being from Monroe County.
Gas leak shuts down section of OlyphantAccording to FirstEnergy Storm Center PA and PPL, the total of customers without power reached almost 28,000.
