CHESNUTHILL TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A new shared emergency services facility opened up in Chestnuthill Township.

It houses the West End Fire Company, Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS Ambulance Service, and Chestnuthill Township Emergency Operations.

This new facility was ten years in the making and is necessary to coincide with the growth of the community and its needs.

"It gives us a lot more exposure to our community, faster response times for emergency needs when we're called, and it just gives a state of the art technology that our crews can work out of and it really helps in aiding the recruitment and retention for new providers to come work for us here at LHVN EMS," stated Dennis Ganc, Director of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Services, LHVN.

"It's amazing how great it is that we have such a big space now that all of our trucks can fit in and everything works and it's just great that we're here," said Chief Mike Manfre, West End Fire Company.

The fire company outgrew its previous building and the ambulance service is at a more centralized location for ease of access.

The location and the building were designed by emergency services personnel.
