STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — In fact, there have been quite a few drone sightings in eastern Pennsylvania over the last few days.
People in Stroudsburg are just as concerned and curious as everyone else.
Most we spoke with have mixed feelings about where these flying objects could be coming from and what's being done to end the mystery.
Monroe County residents Jay Hess and his wife Debra are caught up in "Drone Mystery" fever.
"We don't know what's going on we really don't," says Debra.
The first drone sightings were reported in New Jersey and now people in parts of Monroe County say they've spotted them too. But so far there are a lot more questions than answers.
Drone sightings in Pennsylvania? Residents asked to call authorities"I see things flying around. To me, it's some kind of spying, a gathering of data and we have enemies," Jay.
The Hess's wonder why these flying objects are popping up now and they admit, the sightings are leaving them a bit uneasy.
"I would think it's creepy," added Debra.
The couple hasn't actually seen one for themselves but they have had their eyes peeled.
This video of the flying object was taken by Jacki Vanderhoef in Broadheadsville roughly 20 minutes from Stroudsburg Thursday night.
Vanderhoef has been a pilot for decades and is searching for answers too.
The topic of these sudden mystery objects that appear to be drones even made its way to the classroom here in Monroe County.
Student Liam Krause says his teachers are also puzzled.
"That they don't know much about it and just be careful," stated Krause.
Government officials, the FBI, and police have yet to provide an explanation but the bureau says it has no evidence at this time the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign connection.
"If they can figure out what's going on on the moon they have to figure out what these drones are," continued Jay.
State police are asking to report any spotting of the flying objects to the FBI.
They ask residents to describe the size, shape, color, or any lights visible on the drones and the location of the sightings.
