A mother is suing her estranged husband after one of his venomous snakes bit their son at a home in Pa. and he developed anxiety and PTSD as a result, according to a lawsuit recently filed in federal court.

The lawsuit—filed by the boy’s mother, Irina Mayman—said Gregory Johnson, of Monroe County, made his 8-year-old son “swear on the Bible” not to tell anyone about the incident at Johnson’s parents’ house in August of 2021, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit follows a years-long custody battle in Monroe County between the two over the allegations pertaining to the snakebite, among other issues.

Johnson said the claims are false. He said the state police case, family court case and all Protection From Abuse orders were dismissed with prejudice after authorities investigated him.
