As January marks National Stalking Awareness Month and National
Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Safe Monroe is intensifying its efforts to raise awareness and combat these pervasive issues affecting our community.

Stalking, a deeply distressing and often overlooked crime, affects millions of people each year, leaving victims feeling violated and unsafe. Safe Monroe is committed to shedding light on this issue, offering support and resources to those impacted by stalking, and advocating for stronger measures to prevent and prosecute such offenses.

In conjunction with National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Safe Monroe is dedicating its resources to heighten awareness of the grave issue of human trafficking. Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, exploiting individuals for forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other forms of abuse. Safe Monroe remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate human trafficking, offering a beacon of hope for survivors through comprehensive support services.

On January 24th, 1pm at Courthouse Square, 7th Street Stroudsburg, Safe Monroe will be installing a visual awareness building campaign called The Red Sand Project that will use sidewalk cracks and red sand. This will create opportunities for people to question, connect and act against vulnerabilities that can lead to human trafficking, modern slavery, and exploitation.

Safe Monroe encourages everyone to get involved in the fight against stalking and human trafficking. By raising awareness, promoting education, and supporting survivors, we can collectively create a safer and more compassionate community for all.
