Girls’ Basketball off to red-hot start

Tonight, Stroudsburg prepares to go to battle against Northampton.

The Lady Mounties come rolling into this matchup with momentum following their 32-point victory over East Stroudsburg North on Monday. This marked the third time this season they have won a game by 25 or more points.

On Monday, McKayla Strunk, ’25, drilled 3 three point baskets, which included her 100th three of her career. Strunk also led the team in scoring, dropping 19 points. Emily Bozena, ’25, added 11 and Jorai Hunter, ’27, had 9.

Stroudsburg sits at 5-2 on the season and is sixth overall in the District XI 6A standings. Northampton has posted a 2-4 record with the last two contests not going in their favor.

All-time, Stroudsburg is 2-11 against Northampton. The Lady Mounties have dominated the last couple of matchups, though, winning 2 out of the 3 bouts. The current senior class is 1-1 against Northampton.
