The Puppy Bowl is back with an overload of cuteness and fun! This event showcases shelter pets nationwide playing “football”. This year it’s Team Ruff vs Team Fluff. So, who won the Lombarky Trophy?
USA Today reports that Team Fluff won. The Underdog Award went to Mercury, and the Most Valuable Puppy Award went to Foxtrot. The puppies swapped the football for chew toys.
First held in 2005, this event helps spread awareness for pet adoption and helps find these pets a home. The event is organized by and aired on the Animal Plant channel on Super Bowl Sunday. Puppy Bowl has a good reputation for finding homes for all dogs featured in the annual bowls. The annual event features homeless puppies from all over the nation. This year, three dogs were featured from a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania shelter, Paws Across Pittsburgh.
This event also includes a halftime show featuring kittens, bunnies, and other animals. Paws Across Pittsburgh three puppies from Pennsylvania were featured in this year’s Puppy Bowl: Franco, Mercury, and Sully. All three have been adopted.
Check out your local shelters like Blue Mountain Animal Rescue and AWSOM Animal Rescue to help homeless animals find a forever home.
