East Stroudsburg car dealership helps community

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A car dealership in the Poconos is helping its neighbors in the community.

Toyota of Stroudsburg in held its third Community Day at the dealership Thursday in East Stroudsburg.

The dealership gave away a total of $25,000.

10 non-profit organizations listed below each received a $5,000 check.

  • Salvation Army of Monroe County
  • Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department
  • Women's Resource Center of Monroe County
  • Meals on Wheels of Monroe County
  • A.W.S.O.M. Animal Shelter
  • Family Promise of Monroe County
  • Pocono Wildlife Rehab
  • Jewish Resource Center of the Poconos
  • Lakshmi Cow Sanctuary
  • Challenger Sports of Monroe County

"Toyota of Stroudsburg bought us three pairs of boots, couple sets of gloves, everything is very expensive at the fire department, and everything has a life cycle and thankfully toyota of Stroudsburg they're helping us out, we're partners in the community and we really appreciate what they're doing for us," said chaplain and Stroud Township Fire Department firefighter Mike Stettler.

Toyota of Scranton will host its community day on Friday.

That's when an additional $25,000 will be given to another 10 area non-profit organizations, which are listed below.

  • Individual Abilities in Motion
  • Griffin Pond Animal Shelter
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Saint Joseph`s Center
  • Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • NEPA Youth Shelter
  • Catherine McAuley Center
  • Pawsitively for the Animals
  • Everhart Museum
