Clearview Elementary sees a bright future ahead.

At the recent meeting on Jan 17, the School Board and Administration announced they recently sent an application to receive a grant to renovate Clearview Elementary. This would bring the building up to modern-day standards and allow it to be used for the public again.

While the District is still unsure what they will do with Clearview if they are approved to renovate, current ideas include using it as a community space and allowing for public gatherings to commence there. The School Board and Administration also hope to do this with Ramsey Elementary shortly. More updates will come.

A new course was recently approved. Civil Engineering and Architecture is a new course that would be the next step for prospering engineering students.

A full-year elective, it is designed to be the successor to a course already offered at Stroudsburg High School, Introduction to Engineering Design. Its curriculum includes learning the history of civil engineering, learning how to build with cost efficiency, and ultimately culminating into a big end-of-year project involving designing and creating a commercial building using everything students learned from the course.

It is hoped to have the course ready for the beginning of the next school year.

Feb 15 is also planned to be an early dismissal for students to prepare them for the four-day weekend surrounding President’s Day. More will be shared within the near future.
